How to download, install and play STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS on your PC and Mac

If you want to install and play the STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS game on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS game for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS in the search bar and press Search. Click on STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS game icon. A window of STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your Game will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed Games.
You should see the STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS icon. Click on it and start playing the Game

Game Reviews

  • So far...

    By MaycieM
Very impressed by far. Great graphics and also power saver mode by turning down graphics. Story is cliche, of course, but it’s engaging, and there will be more of the plot to come. So far, only 3 chapters of story available atm, but the missions are enough to keep you busy for at least 2 days straight of playing. As for the in-game transactions, they’re not really required to enjoy the game fully. The game is generous with giving away gems (which are one of the main and important currencies in game) that are used to purchase characters, upgrades for characters, equipment, and so on. Definitely more of a free to play than other p2w mobile rpgs. Since everything seems promising, current players will continue to play and level up their characters for future content. Newer players can also easily catch up atm so there’s no skill gap. I would suggest trying out the game yourself before deciding to keep or delete the app. It’s very enjoyable!

This is such a great example of a free to play game done right. It’s easy to get characters, the story is engaging, there are a few different types of game modes, nice amount of customization and a decent way to get cash shop currency. For the most part you will love this game but once you get to the end of the campaign that’s where it kinda goes downhill. The content cuts off at end of chapter 3 (which didn’t take long to beat). They are adding more content which is good but kinda stinks for the players that made it to end game. Just the same coop missions (average between 30 seconds to 3 minutes each). Then ofc the hard missions require a lot of stamina (which fills up decently quick). In the end you are left wanting more and wondering what should I do. Some complaints beyond content: 1) there isn’t a global chat or text chat to friends. 2) there are quite a few things that aren’t explained properly such as some of the stats or some of the modes beyond basics. I resorted to reddit to find out more about certain mechanics that were a little confusing. 3) End game progression slows down rather sudden after you level to about 18 (which doesn’t take to long). 4) Some things take way to long to grind for example limit breaker crystals. (I don’t mind a little bit of grind but with the way the stamina system is it makes the already somewhat grindyness extra Grindy). At the end of the day it’s still a fun game.
  • On the next episode of Star Trek: Voyager...

    By swordzman0611
So, yeah, this game series has always been like the Nihongo answer to the most underrated franchise of all time. This time, you’re lost somewhere in the universe with little hope of getting home, but you must explore your new surroundings to figure out what challenges you must face on the way back from the Epsilon Sector (or whatever this place is). Oh, but you’d better not mess with the Prime Directive, or... oops, too late, Captain; you just stepped on a bug! You’re in for it now. On the journey with you, you’ve got an amnesiac 1st mate and The Doctor in a hockey puck body. The latter is still annoying as hell. But you also get all of your favorites from the Star Ocean universe to use as an away team, plus a few new faces. Each one has a different set of strengths and skills — mix and match them to create your perfect team. This game does suffer a bit from a gacha system that forces the player to make some rough choices, but let’s hope they give enough incentives to spend the money or work at it. Shades of the former King’s Knight are present, but they need to use Exvius’ model to survive longer. All in all, you’re looking at a great start to what could be a great game. To the developers: keep working on ironing out those kinks. And lest I forget, 🖖🏻 (that’s “live long and prosper”)!
  • Great for f2p and really fun

    By Deiser00
I was skeptical going in about this capturing anything about star ocean, but they nailed the battle system perfectly. There’s a ton of characters as well, and the upgrading is really easy. It also helps that the game is extremely f2p friendly; even the option to get premium additional daily bonuses is cheap! I’ve easily gotten about 30 or 40k gems so far - enough for about 8 10-character rolls and even when the initial well dries up, you can still get quite a few gems daily. The only catch is that outright buying gems is expensive, but again you don’t even need to do that. This is a game that lets you have fun first and foremost, and I will reward such a generous game by purchasing things once in a while not because it is making me feel like I have to, but because I WANT to, in order to support such a great game
  • Too easy at the moment..

    By Sorry lag
Started off as a tank. The game gives you enough crystals and cash to max your level out get 3 6 Star people within an hour. If you have a healer and a tank you won’t lose. On a different note the games doesn’t teach you about many things and the missions if not done in order will glitch and not let you continue through them. I am currently stuck on a mission that tells me to 100% the second planet and because I did it before I got the mission it won’t let me complete it. This is costing me to be able to get better items and more crystals. The reason I gave this game 5 stars is that it doesn’t seem to be a p2w game. But like most games with an auto play system you turn it on and keep playing hearthstone. Well I hope this helps the devs keep improving the game. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
  • Out of this World!

    By Sean424
This game is amazing, one of the better Japanese action RPG Gacha games out. Lots of free goodies, free to play friendly, multiplayer coop (no competitive events at this time, though I wouldn’t be against it), and fun engaging gameplay (or with auto if you just wanna grind mindlessly). Great graphics and animations for mobile, and full English voices which is rare for these types of Japanese games. There will also be collaboration events with other Square Enix titles such as Nier, Valkyrie Profile, or final fantasy. Tons of characters, waifus or husbandos alike. I fully support this game and the team. You should at least give it a try! Anyone can play this, even if you’re not familiar with the series. And if you are a Star Ocean fan, then it’s even sweeter!! :D
  • Impressive

    By Rynbusk
The game is awesome for any Star Ocean fan. The gacha system isn’t that bad either, playing early on you’re given more than enough gems to be able to do multiple 10 draws on characters and weapons. The only downfall right now is there are only 3 chapters to complete. But I’m sure they’ll be adding more as the game is updated. I don’t really have any complaints right now considering how early the game is. But I hope the update it regularly and keep adding content. I’d like to see more quests reliant on multiplayer as well as making rewards more rewarding. Also perhaps making characters go passed level 70 at 6* seeing as some enemies in events are level 110.
  • Excellent mobile game for SO players

    By Laazarwolf
If you loved the SO games for console you will also love this game. This latest installation in SO’s legacy stays true to the engaging combat, and choice-based storyline dialogue you know and love from past epics. Even new players to the SO world will find it engaging and exciting with great graphics and a very streamlined battle system. What’s even more impressive is that as a new game it runs very smoothly on iPhone 6 and the devs are very proactive in fixing any glitches. This game does have the option to buy your way to power but they give enough premium items that you really don’t have to pay anything to just enjoy the game👍😁. Great job game devs! I love it!
  • Oh jeez

    By fridaknight
Been playing since release day. Already finished the story, events and now theres nothing to do. Every mode is easy mode. There is no hard. Multiplayer blows because players just go and play for the gems. There’s no point in doing multi after you picked all the gems. Energy to stage consuming ratio is too high for some stages. Do 1 stage and back to energy refill. Gacha system for units and weapons is terrible. Do one or the other, but not both. Gems are scarce once you get all the rewards back to hoard months to get something good if you’re lucky. Auto is fine but since you one shot mostly everything manual is just nonexistent. Auto all the way to victory. If you want to pummel through everything enhance your units with the rewards they give or just take it slow and don’t enhance your units fast. You still kill everything in a few shots in the story if you take it slow.
  • Star Ocean with multiplayer

    By MasterAnge
So I’ve been wanting multiplayer in a Star Ocean game for years and now we finally get one! So far my experience has been really great. The game at this point in time is very generous as far as the gacha is concerned. The combat systems are really tight and are just as good as the console games. The games graphics are also top notch! I can’t wait to see some of my SO1 and SO2 favorites fully rendered. This is the first gacha in a long time that I fell in long with. I’d say definitely give it a try and make sure to utilize the community for the best results! Wish I knew a few of the things I did before starting.
  • So far so good

    By Unknown wonder land
In short, It’s your typical anime gacha rpg with stamina. The three upsides to the game that I’m enjoying and I think are great moves to make this game stand out against the rest... 1. You can multiplayer any stage in the entire game, thus completing even tougher challenges when put with strong other players and a decent team comp (specifically healer) needed for end game bosses. Makes it feel like a real raid battle. 2. You can actually play a dumbed down version of the actual star ocean combat system. Full moving control during battle. (You can auto if it’s too much of a hassle) although I don’t suggest it in end game material. 3. Every time you play with a new player online you get 100 in game gems which builds up quickly when you team up with 3 other people per mission. Takes 5000 to do the usual big banner pulls. In my opinion it just gives the game more options to keep getting gems forever.
  • Really good game and f2p friendly

    By Vicelus
I’m a veteran on the JPN version of this game and all i can say is: this game is really good. Lacks a larger starter rooster on release and chapters (only 3 so far, can be done in a single day), but there are 100+ units in the jpn version and TONS of Square Enox collabs like NieR, FF and Valkyrie Profile (considering 5* and aces). All in all, there is a lot of ways to get freemium currency, and the pull rates are respectable. Initial gameplay seems alright, but it really shines on high level multiplayer, where dodging and predicting the enemy makes it or break it. Recommended to any SO fan or even new to tue series.
  • Great Game!

    By OniDjinn
I have been a fan of Star Ocean for years and this is able to capture all I love about the series. The graphics are gorgeous and the combat is very good. A slight learning curve to someone use to a controller but pretty quick to pick up. Definitely would recommend this for any Star Ocean fan or even someone that just likes a solid game for mobile devices. On an ending note the ability to get higher rated characters without having to spend money has been a blessing in a world where the companies like to nickel and dime the customer.
  • Please read this Square-Enix , Tri-Ace

I love star ocean and I always wanted to be the capt of a federation ship... but with the ability to customize said ship the ability to explore a good handful of worlds and not being stuck on one planet for the majority of the game.... and recruit who I want to recruit on my party. • A fun change for the die-hard SO Fan :)

    By AmpersandBox
I’ve been such a huge fan of Star Ocean since I could remember. From fond memories of watching my cousin play the first two installments and my own entry when i bought Till The End of Time in my early teens. Having watched Star Ocean grow as a 3D JRPG; I personally enjoy the new mobile format. The UI is relatively easy to understand and the different features are exciting and engaging. If you want to ride the nostalgia-train and play a fun mobile game full of your favorite SO characters; this game is for you :)
  • Launch review: Another gacha game

    By Maverickrzx
Not only do you have to farm gems to pull for characters, you ALSO have to pull for weapons for those same characters. With the lack of a guaranteed 5 star per 10 pull, you’ll be wasting gems on 4 star characters that will still be outclassed by the initial 5 star characters. I wasted 5 pulls not getting a 5 star and 3 weapon pulls not getting a 5 star. Because this is the launch campaign, we have access to 5 star weapon tickets and character tickets. But we still get dupes very easily. I pulled 3 Fidels in different banners. Energy is expensive for how fast you progress. You can only really do one expert dungeon until you have to wait because your rank should average 20 when you finish the 3 worlds. Materials you need to make an actual difference is locked behind 30 stamina or higher. Progress will be really slow for a long time. You’re best rerolling until you get Cliff, Maria and Myuria, main them and hoard until better events come out.
  • Great Gameplay, and More to Come!

    By fp8122
So far, I am loving this game. It is fun, easy to learn, and has beautiful graphics. It also has some pretty in depth character building and enhancing for a newly starting game, and I’m sure that in time it will become even better. The story so far is decently long and pretty good, so that’s a plus. Lots of ways to earn new gear and characters, and many ways to get materials to enhance them. Overall, this game is great and I’m sure will get better and better in time.
  • Great great great.

    By ShanniDM
Very free to play friendly with enough incentives to throw a bit of cash if you’re a whale or dolphin. Combat is easily the best part, I especially love playing melee characters and dodging boss attacks, feels very rewarding. Only complaint is the story feels a bit bare bones. Coro (your little robot AI companion) is amazing, but with only Eve and the main character to play off, sometimes it feels a bit boring to read the story cutscenes. More characters to interact this would easily remedy this problem, since the writing is good and funny when it needs to be.
  • I love this game! (I have a technical problem)

    By Warotar
So I played this game when it still wasn’t out in the West (and I’m so happy it is here!) and I had my JP account tied to my GameCentre, but when I hit transfer data in the Western version, it says there’s no backup data. I tried to find a Facebook link in the JP version, but there wasn’t one since the Facebook was made 3 days ago. I tried doing the SE-Bridge, but no email was sent to me. I’m very confused. Someone please help.
  • Awesome game

    By Norticman
There’s a lot of content and contrary to what some have written it’s not very hard to get 5* characters. I have played for less than a week and my team is all 5* and some are limit broken and I haven’t spent any money. It’s an option for those who want to grow super fast but not necessary to play and to become top level in strength. It’s my favorite game in the App Store at the moment and by a long way.
  • Awesome game! No need to spend a dime!

    By MatheuzTavarez
Besides being an amazing game with excellent graphics, and storytelling, you don’t need to spend anything if you don’t want!!! But be careful not to run out of gems spending with useless stuff... It’s been a while that I didn’t see any good game like this that would make me give a review for it!! Perfect in all aspects, I think it just need some updates to get 100% but it’s on its way!
  • Strange Noatalgia

    By Eldamaar
Similar to the feeling I got when I started playing Final Fantasy EXVIUS, I feel a level of nostalgia from my childhood from this game. The combat is pretty fluid feeling, and you won’t hear me argue with the quick dodge feature either which adds more depth to the combat flow. Having Multiplayer as a baseline feature is nice as well because it lets me play with my brother and sister in real-time!
  • Amazing (so far)

    By Lord•Crow
So I’ve only had this for two days since it just came out, but so far I’m impressed. It’s got great graphics, and it’s pretty fun. You can keep playing even without stamina. It’s quite intuitive and there’s tons of free gems. The power creep hasn’t started yet, but so far it looks very f2p. We’ll have to see how it turns out. Ps I made an amino for this so drop by
  • Cant wait

    By Ryusie
The game is great , i love the feel of combat and the characters what i do want to see more of is content and characters , i know it just launched so ill wait to see whats in store but i love the game definitely a keeper. One suggestion i do have is although gems are fair to come buy the multi summon is a bit overpriced. Maybe instead of 5000 u can lower it to 3000.
