How to download, install and play Home Design Makeover! on your PC and Mac

If you want to install and play the Home Design Makeover! game on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Home Design Makeover! for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Home Design Makeover! game for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Home Design Makeover! in the search bar and press Search. Click on Home Design Makeover! game icon. A window of Home Design Makeover! on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your Game will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed Games.
You should see the Home Design Makeover! icon. Click on it and start playing the Game

Step 4: Home Design Makeover! for Mac OS

Hi. Mac Gamer!

Game Reviews

  • Could be better than frustrating

This game needs some upgrade and fixing if you want to keep players interested instead of frustrated. First, keep it interesting by rewarding accurately especially on hard levels where you only awarding 700-1,050 coins? really? Especially when you still have 15 chances left after beating level. Secondly, how about giving extra diamonds to accumulate instead of over charging 90 diamonds for extra 5 turns or extend play or power buttons which I never get to buy why? Because I refuse to pay .99 or more every time I need a power button to destroy shapes, not worth it. Thirdly, nothing is more frustrating than playing same levels for days just so you can feel forced to pay in order to move on to next level as it starting to look pretty obvious the logic of of difficult levels Ive played (I’m on level 222). I’m already reaching point where game not worth playing if I can seem to reap a fair reward when I do beat levels just to keep me stuck at one design for days. After this level if there is no real change besides now playing your 5 turns blindly and hiding your additional coins by just giving one whole accumulated amt (which by the way is now lower than ever before) and more random because how do you calculate the points reward to coins given????? Like another recent reviewer, I will be DELETING this game and won’t reload until there is a big and better improvements
  • Need Better Execution of the Concept

I’ve been playing the game over a week, I even downloaded it at one point, got frustrated & deleted and then added it again. It’s honestly pretty annoying that the game isn’t more enjoyable because it’s a great concept but details of the game are no good. I’ve been stuck on level 79 for three days & at this point I’m fed up. There’s no reason it should be that difficult to get through a level, especially when the game never offers any free power ups. Like someone else said, there should be daily rewards, level checkpoint rewards or something. Then, you only get $700-$800 per level, even as you move up to harder levels, yet EVERY item costs $1600 or more to furnish the room. It literally takes so long to finish a room that by the time you’re done, it’s not even fun anymore. At the very least, the amount of money you make should be moving up each level. I’m making the same amount I was making on level one. Also, even if you do break down and buy diamonds, each action takes SO many of them. You’re literally paying a dollar or more per move. Once you get stuck on a level, there’s no reason to keep playing except your own sheer willpower. Please make some major changes to this game so people can actually continue to like it.
  • Love it, but.......

I am enjoying the game, but do not like how as you progress in the game, the puzzles you have to play in between each level to earn money are becoming increasingly harder — to the point where they are almost impossible to pass without having to use the gems for 5 more moves & ultimately forcing you to purchase more gems just because you are tired of tying to clear that puzzle and are desperately willing to do whatever to just get more money to decorate the room again. Decorating is my favorite part & I’m becoming increasingly more frustrated to the point I’m about ready to throw in the towel. If there were a few “easy” puzzles every now & then, that would help. I’m not opposed to spending a little on more gems every now & then, as it helps them to create new games that I might like. But not every time to clear a puzzle & pass a level so I can earn enough money to buy ONE item. That’s the other thing, the items are ridiculously priced that you can only buy one thing after clearing 2 puzzles (if you’re lucky). Reduce the prices of some of the items so it’s more beneficial to the game. So about to be over this game.
  • Good concept, poor execution

I downloaded this game because the designing aspect seemed appealing, but was quickly brought to a crude reality that I would just be playing Candy Crush 2.0 99% of the time. But I decided I would just deal with it because the ideas looked fun and I enjoyed creating a living room, and I was able to advance levels fairly quickly. Now I have been stuck on level 179 for 3 weeks now and have literally played the game every day trying to pass it. I understand the need for new app developers to make money (through purchasing extras) but if you advertise a free app, you need to at least make it somewhat enjoyable so it isn’t straight up deceiving. I am now deleting the app seeing as there is no way for me to pass the level without spending money on extra moves, and I simply am not able to spend a crap ton of money on a game app for my iPhone that will only lead me to another level I’ll just get stuck on. If you are able to make changes to this app, I would be willing to redownload. But as of now, I’m deleting this one and downloading a different home design app.
  • Ridiculously difficult

The only reason I can give it one star is because I love the TV before and after concept at the end of each room. Problem is, I've only completed two rooms after the tutorial in the month I've been playing. There are no daily rewards to help you play and encourage you to return, there are no where near enough turns to complete the requirements for each level- you have to get extremely lucky with chains of matches to beat most levels. There are evident power ups on the side bar, but I've only been awarded one of them. It appears the only way to get diamonds is to buy them, and I agree with the reviewer that said the purpose of the game seems to be to frustrate the player into buying the diamonds or power ups just to pass a level they've been playing for six days. The difficulty I'm playing at level 50 is usually the difficulty I see at level 300 on other games. I also have to beat two or three of these impossible levels, now, in order to purchase one element for the room. Too little reward for the effort. Homescapes may be cheesy at times, but I'll take it over this game hands down.
  • Great game but needs work

I have finally found a game that I love! The graphics and choice of designs are perfect! The only thing that becomes frustrating is that some of the levels can be too challenging and cause me to eventually go to a different game. I like a challenge and finding a strategy to pass levels, but it seems that some levels are not based on strategy and more of luck. Especially when making a move to have another move follow...yet because of continuous pieces falling it causes your plays to not go as planned. Maybe there could be an option of being able to still move your pieces as they are falling, rather than waiting for them to finish? This is overall a really great game, if the levels could be a bit more modified to be able to strategize and win. Possibly even allowing the power up diamond that clears lines up down and across, to shatter the boxes and make it a colored piece? I loose confidence and don’t want to play anymore after spending days on same level. Please work on it 😊

Hello! I’ll start this review off by saying that I absolutely love this game! It is very fun and the levels are nicely varied! I find myself playing this game for hours. I don’t usually review a game unless it offers me something in return, but I just HAVE to review Home Design! I think the only problems I have come across is 1) the time it takes to regenerate energy. The game is really fun, but sometimes I do encounter tough levels, which, is perfectly fine! The only issue is that it takes a good 30 Minutes to regain ONE energy. 2) I think there should be an “extra move” tile in this game. You know, one that could be matched and you gain a move from it. 3) The only other thing I would say is that the movements are a little slow and jaggy. For the puzzle, the movement and animations are wonderful! On the Design aspect of the game, not so much. Anyways, I really love Home Designs, and there are a lot more “pros” than “cons”! Keep up the good work!
  • Several serious problems with gameplay

    By Mom in SA
I do enjoy this game, and like the design element. Levels are challenging. However, there are several big problems with gameplay. First, at some point (not sure which level) - they just start repeating. The exact same levels over and over again. Not one thing different about them. That’s just lazy ... Second, some are clearly designed to only be beatable by spending money in gems. In two weeks of trying to get past one level (#516) - not once did enough of the green monsters drop to beat the level, no matter how early I cleared the board. (You need to clear 20 - I never got more than 18 - and sometimes 10-15 turns would go by without another one dropping in.) In a conversation with support, they finally just gifted me gems and I was able to beat it by buying extra turns the very next time. Third, if you are going to design levels to require a purchase - you need to add a way to EARN GEMS. Can’t think of any other game that doesn’t give you at least someway to earn them, however small.
  • Only one problem...

    By Rayrayrayrayrayjbcdjfbrkfbdf
Please read... This is one of my favorite games, it’s fun especially if you like interior design. The furniture and decor you can choose from is not overwhelming, and it’s stylish and up to date. The only problem is getting the money you need to actually design the home. To get the money, you basically have to win a matching game, like candy crush but with a challenge to complete for the level. Some of the levels are very very difficult and frustrating. It isn’t very fair because that’s the only way you can get money. So I wish there was either another way to earn money, getting more money after winning a game, or just making the levels easier. This shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, though, as it takes more time to finish the game with it and there aren’t THAT many gigs, so there’s no way you can finish it in a day which is good. It’s still a great game but one of those options would make it so much better.
  • Not a game I’d recommend 😕

I don’t really want to give you guys a bad rating, but I want to prevent people from wasting their time on this game. Sadly, I have to agree with the other people who wrote reviews about how they don’t like this game. I read the reviews, but decided to try the game anyway. After only 10 minutes of it, I deleted it. You don’t get to choose what furniture goes in the room, only the color. How is that DESIGN? That prevents you from making it your own and expressing your creativity. Also, a huge reason I deleted it is because everything is so expensive! That would be fine if coins were easier to get, but they’re not. It’s weird that if you complete an easy level you get 750 coins, but if you complete a really hard level you only get 640 coins. It’s frustrating to play so many levels to get coins but then have to spend it all to buy one piece of furniture! Overall, sorry guys, it’s just not a great game that I would recommend. Make some changes, and I might come back. If not, people should turn to Home Design by TeamLava
  • Fun design concept, extremely limited to moves in game

    3
    By hannahmariechris
I love how this game allows you to design different room challenges with modern and updated design choices. However, as he levels progress, it is almost impossible to beat the levels until 6 or 7 times. There is not enough moves to complete the individual color challenges, let alone when there are different restrictions on the board such as wood, silver bars, or walls that encapsulated other pieces. Even after these extremely difficult levels, the coins awarded are simply not enough to even buy one piece of furniture. If the game provided more moves per level, it would make solving each puzzle much more fun and rewarding. Sometimes the levels are just too complex and demand too many pieces of colors with EXTREMELY limited moves that just is not too rewarding. Fantastic concept and overall design concept, just needs to be a bit easier to solve or provide more moves per level to at least have a chance to solve them
  • Def needs some major improvements...

    By Peytonsmommy0311
Ok so I mainly downloaded it to decorate a room and thought earning the money through a matching game seemed for fun than some of the rest of the decor games... but honestly this is just frustrating! It's ridiculous how much "money" you win each level you do win and I'm sorry but the fact the game purposely freezes and won't let you make a move bc you are throwing some little monster in is just ridiculous in my opinion. Plus you literally only get boosters if you pay money for them? And the cost of furniture is a bit ridiculous as well when you consider how much you win from one level won. I mean come on...I will be deleting it bc it seems like the game is trying to just get you to pay for more stuff and I'm sorry but that's one main thing I was avoiding. If I wanted to pay then I'd switch to an actual design game with better choices in decor bc as cute as yours is, it's def frustrating dealing with the game "challenges" I say "challenges" bc it is honestly more like cheating. Won't be downloading it again and def won't waste my money on any upgrades for it. Good luck!
  • $1400 for a pet bed? But $1800 for new windows. Hmmm.

I like this game but the cost of things are way too high! It could be way more enjoyable if your dollar could go farther. $1400 for a pet bed?! But it’s only $1800 for 2 brand new windows where windows didn’t even exist before lol I know you guys want to make money by people buying stuff but you could make it a little simpler to enjoy the game bc if everyone else is like me, I will play this for about another week and then get sick of how hard it is to get coins. Or make it so when you complete a puzzle with like 14 moves left for example, you actually make more coins, I don’t get how you calculate how many coins you get but whatever. I like playing this at night before bed but when it takes me 2 days to purchase paint for a tiny accent wall, it makes it not fun anymore. Just my 2 cents. But great graphics it’s so realistic, I just wish it was easier to enjoy, seems like everyone has the same complaints, maybe you should adjust it?

I was excited to play this game based on the ads I saw on Facebook. The graphics and designs looked really nice. I downloaded the app, and started playing. I figured there would be some puzzle solving or match 3 game involved, and there was. To complete the first room, the match 3 games weren’t bad. I was earning plenty of coins to make the renovations and purchase the design pieces. Then after finishing the first room, I moved on to the second room, which is a kitchen. Suddenly the match 3 games became way more difficult to beat and I wasn’t getting as many coins per game. It got really expensive really fast...I would have to beat at least 3 match 3 levels just to do one thing in the kitchen. And some of the match 3 levels would take a really long time to beat. So overall, this feels more like a match 3 game and less like a design game. I have stopped playing and deleted the app. I would be happy to redownload if some changes were made, but right now, from a home makeover/design stand point, it isn’t any fun.
  • Could be way better

I love the game but I agree with so many others there really isn’t any “design” in this game it pre conceived and no real fun as far as design goes. The matching I love although it’s just way too hard on some levels it’s insaine how many monsters you guys will put into one lvl and then there is little chance you will succeed when they eat the color that you give the least of each time! And I would think as you gain rooms you should be able to at least gain more number of chances it never goes above 5 and omg really 30 min per chance to regenerate... like I have hours to waste waiting for the darn thing to let me have another go at it. It needs to be somewhat easier not to easy it’s not any challenge at all but come on chuck us all a bone here! I figured by room four I would have a little more lives to use. I don’t think I’m gonna be wasting any more time with this till you guys fix these issues. Too bad too cause it’s fun but I just hate waiting hours to be able to play again.
  • I love the game! BUT

    By Rixtie_mango23
Like others have said it gets WAY TOO FRUSTRATING! The games should reward you with more than just under what things cost! I played the first round and it wasn’t so bad but hard and the second round was excruciating. With everything costing over 1,000 and only getting 500 a game (if I even won!) the games got difficult and you don’t have enough diamonds to buy tools to help you. And 90 diamonds for 5 turns is ridiculous! I would sit there for two days playing nonstop games just to earn money and be disappointed because I STILL couldn’t afford the design! Spending more than a day on a design is a little much. I am very sad to have uninstalled this game! The art is cute and the designs are amazing and I absolutely LOVE how you get options to choose and you are able to tap things and change your mind which is a wonderful idea! I just hope there is some changes soon because I’ll be checking until there is! I want this game back but not for .99 just to get further.
  • Designing is...okay... The games, not so much

I like the idea of designing a space. But the options of items are blah, but that’s understandable with concept of this game. The only thing that’s not understandable are the games you have to play in order to make money so you can buy the things you need to decorate a room. I’m on my 3rd room and I had to play 80 levels worth of puzzle games to make enough money to design the rooms, 2 and a half cause I’m only 40% of completion with the 3rd. I haven’t made more than 820 coins for each level I won in games and almost every item to decorate the room with cost about 1500+ coins, AND the levels are hard AF! You only get 5 lives to beat them. If you have one piece left that you need to capture and no more moves left, you can add 5 more moves for 90 diamonds, but here’s the catch... you don’t get rewarded any while playing the game, you have to buy them. It definitely gets boring after a while, playing so many levels of y’all extremely hard games in order to make enough months to design a room, about to delete.
  • Worthless

As an avid remodeling show viewer, I jumped at the opportunity to try some of the techniques and aspects of home remodeling through this game. Needless to say, initially I was a little impressed, but not overwhelmed at the game play. Through some of the levels, I had some tremendous moves that resulted in completing them, and had double digit moves left, only to receive, paltry at best, coin bonuses. This starting turning me off to this game, and now that after level 43, and seeing the extremely elevated difficulty in finishing that level, have decided that others who reviewed and said that Candy Crush is a better alternative than this are true. Bubble Witch and other pop ‘em games are right in line with this one. This game has nothing distinctive to make it stand out above the rest, as well as a limited variety of upgrade possibilities within the various room in the game. A very large amount of upgrades and improvements are needed within this game to REALLY make it a game worth playing. As for me, thanks for nothing. Game deleted.
  • Eh...

Okay, the reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because the actual designing part is amazing. The graphics and storyline of this app brings it apart from other design games. HOWEVER, they give you limited options and it’s mainly matching. The matching wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t rig the game to set you to fail. You barely make coins to actually design the room when you do manage to beat a level. So you have to attempt to beat it despite the developers not providing any power ups and constantly hurling crates and cages onto the shapes you’re attempting to match making it impossible to win any level, especially at a low level. That’s how they get you. The frustration of not able to beat the stupid level makes you lunge towards your wallet to buy more moves so you can actually get to the designing. It’s highly frustrating and requires a great amount of patience and self restraint.
  • Great at first, but...

    By 🎤Mischivia🎶
But it is so ridiculously difficult! At the beginning of the game, I loved making the first room! But it took almost an hour to do so! The match game is the only way to get money, and it is undeniably ridiculous. As you progress, levels get harder instantly. It takes three levels before you start struggling greatly to achieve the set goal of matches required You may need 50 for one set, and another 60 and 60 to complete the rest of the level! And by the second room, you can’t even progress any further because of how hard it is. The furniture even costs a very large amount. This game could have been perfect, and it would have been perfect, but it isn’t. It’s just frustrating! I really hope you do something about this issue, and if it were to be resolved I’m sure the game itself would certainly improve! It would be very enjoyable to spend less time matching up candies, and actually DESIGNING ROOMS. You could fix this by giving far more turns, (considering how difficult it is, forty turns would probably be the bare minimum.) Or maybe adding a feature such as a prize wheel, or maybe even removing the feature of “lives!” It’s an extra unnecessary nuisance. It just makes you wait forty minutes to try a level, and fail, fail, fail, FAIL. I understand that you are NOT paying any attention to the valuable opinions and feedback written by your users in reviews. This is no exception.

I have played many Storm8 games and have enjoyed most of them. This one was fun at first. Getting to makeover the rooms is enjoyable. But the matching part has become tedious to say the least. After about Level 50, it gets difficult to clear a level and takes multiple levels beaten to get to add one element to the design. It’s easy to get stuck on a level for days on end and quickly becomes frustrating. The object of playing these apps is to have some fun and relax a little...no one wants to sit aggravated and tempted to toss their phone out the window. I’m deleting it after this review. I’ll check back in 3-6 months and if there are DECENT improvements, I’ll consider downloading again. Hope it doesn’t go the way of the Dream Home game that Storm8 released some years back. Anyone remember that one? Lol PS: a message to Storm8...check out Playrix Homescapes and take a page from their book. Smooth and much more animated play...😉
  • If I wanted to play Candy Crush, I’d play Candy Crush

    1
By Would give it 5 stars...
If you want to play a game where you get to design rooms, this isn’t it. I’m an actual interior designer and I downloaded this game after seeing an ad that showed trivia questions where you had to identify what design style a piece of furniture was. (There were pictures of chairs and you had to identify if it was Mid Century Modern or Rococo or Industrial etc.) I wanted to play that game because it was unusual, but this is just another candy crush wanna be where you occasionally get to spend your coins on furniture and in time you might finish a room. I’ve been playing for a few days and still haven’t finished the kitchen design. You have to play multiple levels of a stupid matching game to earn enough coins to buy a cabinet or appliance. Deleting this game now. It’s not the game the ads lead you to believe. If you want to develop an actual design game, let your players design something. If you want to reinvent Candy Crush, it’s been done to death.
  • A little pricey

    2
    By NiaChristy
First of all this game is very overpriced. I do not want to spend a bunch of money just to get an extra 5 turns (which 90 diamonds for 5 turns is ridiculous & paying 0.99 cents for 100 diamonds is ridiculous too). You should reward us more money (especially on hard levels & levels where we have a lot of turns left) & diamonds when we complete a level. I don’t think it’s right that we have to buy diamonds instead of earning them. I’m not interested in an app that is just seeking money to keep playing. Also it would be nice if you could have an option in the settings to connect to fb so if someone decides to play the game on a different device they can connect to fb & not lose their info & stat at the level they left off on. Please idea the app with these changes or I will end up deleting this app & I won’t play it again until it has been updated accordingly. Thank you.

Re: UPDATED GAME PLAY (July 2018) I’m happy that you’ve added more interesting features within the game play. I feel like I can get through levels a little more easily — or at least without having to try 20 times. Now the biggest suggestion I would have is to please give a reward for finishing a room! Every other game gives a reward for getting through a level, a story, etc. it’s very frustrating to finish and then... nothing. I like this game in theory. Love the design aspect. And it’s a very challenging match 3 game. But please take note of ALL these reviews complaining about the lack of rewards you get for completing a level and ESPECIALLY when you complete a design challenge. Every other game I play has a much better reward system. Please TAKE NOTE!
